Drop points are agreed with the venue before you arrive, and the car stays close through previews and private views. A framed or crated piece can travel with you where the venue allows it and the work is already packed for transport — it rides as accompanied luggage, not as an insured consignment.

Fort Mason, a saleroom, a gallery on an evening it is closed to everyone else — the vehicle access is agreed with the venue beforehand so the arrival is not conducted on a pavement in front of a queue.
There is no useful moment to stop and summon a car. Yours stays close through the evening and is at the door when you decide the evening is over.
Where the venue and the piece both allow it, a packed work travels flat and secured with nothing else in the vehicle. We are a chauffeur service rather than a fine-art shipper, so anything needing specialist handling, crating or its own cover should go with one — and where that is the answer, we will say so rather than improvise it on the night.
